We are a Cambridgeshire based flooring contractor specialising in the refurbishment, installation, repair and maintenance of all types of wooden floors. Our extensive knowledge of this industry ensures that we provide a very thorough and professional service. We take pride and care in all aspects of each job, from the initial consultation through to the completion of the work.

Our aim is to ensure that each and every client is delighted with their beautifully refurbished or newly installed wooden floor.
Services
The greatest asset of any wooden floor is its durability and with the knowledge and the correct procedures used, we can transform tired and worn wooden floors for a small proportion of the cost of replacing them.
We only use professional sanding equipment and reputable brands of sealing products, this will ensure that a quality overall final finish is achieved.
Although we are not able to replicate a perfect factory finish on site, every effort is made to ensure that a professional acceptable finish is achieved.
We also specialise in the installation of wooden floors.
To be able to repair and sand wooden floors it is vital that you are fully competent in how they should be correctly installed.
We come across many cases where new wooden floor have been installed over undulating and damp subfloors.
You have to remember that a new wooden floor will simply mirror the contours of the floor beneath, so it will only be as good as what it is laying over.
Ensuring that undulations in the floor are overcome will result in a floating floor feeling cushioned rather than bouncy, and a nailed and glued floor feeling firm rather than hollow where the low spots are being bridged.
Once we have carried out either the installation or sanding of your wooden floor or both, we are able to offer ongoing specific maintenance guidance.
No two floors are the same and the levels of wear and tear will be dependent on usage and how well the floors are looked after.
In village halls and schools etc, experience has shown that a scrub and seal will need to be carried out approximately every 2 years.
This will prolong the life of the timber beneath the coating, once the coating has broken through, the dirt and moisture will cause discoloration.
I first had the pleasure of meeting Barney whilst renovating his brother's house, this was in early 2009.
Since this project I have only used Barney for my flooring work, sanding, staining etc.
I run a largish high end property renovation company and have not come across anyone as good with flooring and as good with my clients as Barney.
Long may it continue.
Barney Hipperson of Hip Flooring Solutions has completed three contracts for us.
The laying of a new Junckers Ash floor in an 18th Century coastal house at Aldeburgh, Suffolk, new solid wood floors in a renovated Victorian townhouse in central Cambridge, and repairs to an existing floor in a London apartment.
